Hello, and welcome to my blog!!! I've no clue how often I'll update, but hopefully it will be often enough to keep you informed of how I'm doing. If you've got any questions, feel free to comment on a post and ask me.

The trip to Alberta went well. We took it easy and had some good family time before arriving at Prairie. Take a look at how much stuff my dad willingly let me bring with me:

Thanks so much to all of you who have had a part in helping me with the "college-thing." I've really appreciated the prayer, encouragement, and stuff you've given me.

So, a little update on stuff:

I arrived Friday, moved in, did some stupid-but-fun games with a group of new college students (WOW Group... stands for Week of Welcome, or something of the sort). Discovered some interesting connections between people here at Prairie and people I know from home or elsewhere.

Saturday, I said goodbye to my family, *sniff* *sniff* and bravely faced a whole new world. Eek! I have to say, it was a rather miserable day. We had orientation activities-- library orientation, book buying, registration, etc. etc. In the evening, I went swimming... now that was good for me. Had a good visit with a fellow Washingtonian and relaxed a little.

Sunday was a whole new day, thankfully. My cheerful outlook was back, and I was really seeing places where God was using me to help others... pretty awesome stuff, I'll tell you. We had a corporate worship service on campus, and then a relaxing afternoon. I walked around town, looked at the pretty scenery, and played volleyball. In the evening we had WOW discussion group time, which was really good. Then I went and played piano with a friend... really good time. =)

Today's been busy, but good. There are quite a few adult freshmen who haven't been in education for awhile that I've been trying to encourage and help out, which in turn has helped me. It's a good thing to have one's focus off of oneself. It's also really cool to see older people stepping out and "learning new tricks." I finally got internet on my computer today, so I'm quite happy. Chatted w/family today, which was really nice, even though they heard everything I said 5-10 times (yay for echos!).

Prayer Requests:
-The older students: That they would understand what they're doing, be able to keep track of all the stuff they need to keep track of, and wouldn't get discouraged. Also, that people would come alongside them to help them adjust.

-Me, that I'd be able to be balanced in the time I spend on different things. I want to help everyone, but I'm not sure I'll have time for it, so wisdom in priorities.

-The teachers: I'm sure it's hard to teach a class for 6 1/2 hours a day... as a student, I know it's intense, but I can't imagine all the prep the teachers have put into it. Pray that they'll have clarity of thought, and energy to continue.

Hope you all are doing well, let me know if there's anything I can be praying for you about... you know my email address.

Send me that photo of me at the lake or else I won't send you the picture of my hat.

P.S. I'll send you a bonus of a blackmail photo with the hat picture.

Abby, thanks for the pointer to your blog (I eavesdropped on your Wall, I think). I can certainly understand the request for wisdom in priorities.
Hugs and prayers,
